# Question summaries

> Use the Summary tab to see one card per question, with a visualization suited to each question type.

The **Summary** tab turns raw answers into charts. You get one card per question, so you can see patterns without reading each response.

<Frame caption="Scroll the Summary tab to see each question's chart.">
  <video autoPlay muted loop playsInline className="w-full" src="https://mintcdn.com/formai-app/XBaZxbZCaxkDZx0d/videos/results-summary.mp4?fit=max&auto=format&n=XBaZxbZCaxkDZx0d&q=85&s=a09822ee7f102e53331e41e128fc59d4" aria-label="Scrolling the Summary tab past NPS statistics, a score distribution chart and a Matrix question heatmap" data-path="videos/results-summary.mp4" />
</Frame>

## What each card shows

Every question card shows the same header details:

* The question type badge
* Views
* **Total Answers**
* **Response Rate**

Below the header, the visualization depends on the question type. Use the date range at the top of the Result tab to change the period the cards cover.

## Visualizations by question type

| Question type | Visualization |
| - | - |
| Options (choice questions) | **Response Distribution** bars showing how many people picked each choice. Click "+1 more options" to expand longer lists. |
| 0 to 10 scales | An NPS-style breakdown with Average, NPS, Detractors, Passives, Promoters and a Score Distribution chart. |
| Matrix | A heatmap grid of rows and columns. Use **Transpose** to swap them. A Column Total and a "Response Volume Low→High" legend help you read it. |

Other question types get a visualization suited to their answers.

### Read a Matrix heatmap

Cell shading follows the "Response Volume Low→High" legend, so you can spot the busiest combinations at a glance. If the question is easier to read with rows and columns the other way round, click **Transpose**.

### Read an NPS-style breakdown

For a 0 to 10 scale, FormAI groups respondents into Detractors, Passives and Promoters and summarizes them as an NPS figure. The Average gives the typical score, and the Score Distribution chart shows how scores are spread.
